Job Summary
The Project Manager - BESS will be responsible for leading and managing the successful execution of large-scale Battery Energy Storage System projects.
The role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery, budget control, and adherence to quality and safety standards while meeting client and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed construction schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and project management teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Lead and manage all site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Oversee subcontractors and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Ensure all construction activities meet quality standards and technical specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the construction work.
- Implement and enforce HSE policies and procedures on-site.
- Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations.
- Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Provide regular updates on construction progress and resolve any on-site conflicts.
- Ensure all construction documentation is complete and in compliance with project requirements.
- Identify potential risks to project delivery and implement mitigation strategies.
- Address any technical or logistical issues promptly.
Qualifications, Key Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical / civil engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction project management of large scale renewables Project with at least the latest 4 years in BESS projects.
- Experience in managing end to end construction of large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects (minimum capacity of 300 MWh), Prior experience in leading international projects is desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, BESS technologies, and grid integration
- Strong expertise in BESS systems, including civil, electrical, and mechanical aspects of construction.
- Solid understanding of EPC project workflows in renewable energy projects. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international safety and quality standards. Project management, direct execution, communication, drafting skills, HSE & QC awareness & knowledge.
