Position: Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of civil and structural steel construction projects, ensuring that the works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and statutory regulations.

1) Project Planning & Management

a) Develop and implement project execution plans, construction methodologies, and work schedules.

b) Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

c) Establish project objectives, milestones, and resource requirements.

d) Monitor project progress against approved baseline and recovery programs.

e) Identify risks and implement mitigation measures.

2) Construction Management

a) Direct and supervise all site construction activities related to civil, structural steel, architectural, and MEP interface works.

b) Ensure proper sequencing of activities to achieve project milestones.

c) Coordinate steel fabrication, delivery, erection, and associated civil works.

d) Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.

e) Resolve technical and operational issues affecting project progress.

3) Contract Administration

a) Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications.

b) Manage correspondence with clients, consultants, authorities, and subcontractors.

c) Review and submit claims for variations, extensions of time (EOT), disruption, and additional costs.

d) Monitor contractual notices and maintain proper project records.

4) Cost Control & Budget Management

a) Monitor project budgets and expenditures.

b) Review monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts.

c) Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety.

d) Approve procurement plans and material requisitions.

e) Evaluate and certify subcontractor payments.

5) Schedule & Progress Monitoring

a) Review and update project schedules regularly.

b) Monitor productivity and resource utilization.

c) Conduct weekly and monthly progress reviews.

d) Implement corrective actions to address delays.

e) Prepare progress reports for management and clients.

6) Quality Management

a) Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

b) Implement and monitor Project Quality Plans (PQP).

c) Review inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, and material approvals.

d) Ensure timely closure of NCRs, observations, and punch list items.

7) Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

a) Promote a strong safety culture across the project.

b) Ensure compliance with project HSE plans and local regulations.

c) Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits.

d) Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

e) Ensure safe erection of structural steel and lifting operations.

8) Procurement & Resource Management

a) Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.

b) Ensure timely availability of construction materials and resources.

c) Monitor steel fabrication schedules and delivery programs.

d) Manage project manpower requirements and productivity.

9) Stakeholder Coordination

a) Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors.

b) Attend project meetings and represent the contractor professionally.

c) Coordinate authority inspections, approvals, and permits.

d) Ensure effective communication among all project stakeholders.

10) Team Leadership

a) Lead and motivate project engineers, site engineers, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and support staff.

b) Delegate responsibilities and monitor team performance.

c) Conduct performance evaluations and provide technical guidance.

d) Foster teamwork and professional development.

11) Authority & Decision-Making

a) The Project Manager is authorized to:

b) Allocate project resources.

c) Approve construction methodologies.

d) Manage subcontractors and suppliers.

e) Recommend procurement and budget expenditures.

f) Represent the company in project-related meetings and communications.

g) Initiate corrective actions to maintain project objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • PMP certification (preferred).
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in civil and structural steel construction projects.
  • Experience in industrial, commercial, warehouse, factory, or high-rise building projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project planning, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, and construction management software is an added advantage.
