Project Engineer - Swimming pools

About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage the design, installation, and commissioning of pool filtration systems and thermal suites for wet leisure facilities, luxury hotels, and spas. This role requires strong technical design expertise in pool systems (not general MEP) combined with hands-on project execution and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities

• Project manage the installation and commissioning of swimming pool filtration systems and thermal suites across hotels, spas, and leisure facilities
• Liaise with clients and consultants to agree on project design, scope, and programmed
• Supervise the preparation of technical specifications, design documentation, and drawings
• Prepare and implement Quality, Health & Safety (QHSE) plans in compliance with project requirements
• Manage procurement of materials, ensuring quality, cost control, and timely delivery
• Oversee on-site installation teams, subcontractors, and commissioning personnel
• Coordinate and manage design drawings, including tender, submission, shop drawings, and as built documentation
• Represent company at consultant design meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
• Coordinate with property management companies, contractors, architects, and designers throughout the project lifecycle
• Handle mechanical and electrical engineering coordination related to pool and leisure systems
• Provide overall project oversight, including material sourcing, scheduling, and reporting

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the design and engineering of swimming pool filtration systems (essential – general MEP experience alone is not sufficient)
• Proven experience managing projects through RIBA design stages
• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or equivalent relevant experience

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM
• Excellent written and spoken English (mandatory)
• Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractors
• Ability to manage a full set of drawings and technical documentation independently
• Willingness to travel when required
