Project Engineer - Fitout

Overview

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering and construction projects from inception to completion.
• Develop project execution strategies, work schedules, and resource plans.
• Ensure project activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Monitor project milestones and implement corrective actions to maintain project schedules.

2. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Lead project coordination meetings and communicate project objectives to all stakeholders.
• Resolve technical, commercial, and operational issues affecting project progress.
• Ensure effective communication between project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

3. Engineering & Technical Management

• Review engineering designs, shop drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to site engineers and project teams.
• Evaluate engineering changes and recommend practical solutions.
• Ensure technical compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.

4. Budget & Cost Control

• Monitor project budgets, costs, and resource utilization.
• Review project expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support variation management and commercial evaluations.
• Assist in forecasting project costs and financial performance.

5. Schedule & Progress Monitoring

• Track project progress against approved schedules.
• Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance.
• Identify delays and implement recovery plans where required.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients.

6. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and engineering best practices.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality control activities.
• Monitor corrective actions and ensure timely closure of quality issues.
• Support project audits and compliance reviews.

7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure compliance with all company HSE policies and local regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture across project teams.
• Monitor site safety performance and address non-conformities.
• Ensure all project activities are carried out safely and responsibly.

8. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain project documentation, technical records, and correspondence.
• Prepare project reports, progress updates, and management presentations.
• Monitor RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and approval status.
• Ensure proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

9. Project Close-Out & Handover

• Coordinate testing, commissioning, snagging, and rectification activities.
• Ensure completion of punch list items before project handover.
• Prepare final documentation, as-built records, and handover packages.
• Support project close-out and lessons learned reviews.
