Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our project team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site activities, supervising works, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring that projects—especially commercial fit-out works are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
The role requires strong technical knowledge in shop drawings, site supervision, task handovers, and coordination between all stakeholders.
Site Supervision & Execution
- Supervise daily construction activities and ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Monitor site progress and report regularly to the Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment on site.
Fit-Out Works (Commercial Projects)
- Manage and supervise commercial fit-out activities including:
- Interior finishes
- Ceiling systems
- Partitions and drywall
- Flooring works
- Joinery and carpentry
- MEP coordination with finishing works
- Ensure smooth integration between civil, architectural, and MEP scopes.
Shop Drawings & Technical Submittals
- Review, coordinate, and follow up on shop drawings and material submittals.
- Ensure all site works are executed in line with approved shop drawings.
- Identify discrepancies and raise RFIs when required.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings.
Task Allocation & Handover
- Assign daily tasks to foremen and subcontractors.
- Track progress of assigned works and ensure timely completion.
- Conduct internal handovers between trades.
- Prepare and manage handover packages for completed areas, including:
- Snag lists
- Test reports
- Inspection approvals
- Coordinate final handover with the client/consultant.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Attend site meetings and prepare progress updates.
- Ensure proper coordination between all disciplines to avoid clashes and delays.
Quality Control
- Implement QA/QC procedures on site.
- Conduct inspections before consultant/client inspections.
- Ensure rectification of defects and closure of snags.
Education
- al Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
- Certification in construction management or site supervision is an advantage.
Professional Experience
- 3–6 years of relevant experience as a Project Engineer.
- Proven experience in commercial fit-out projects , including:
- Offices, retail spaces, restaurants, hotels, showrooms.
- Hands-on experience in:
- Site supervision
- Task allocation and work planning
- Handover procedures and snagging
- Coordination of shop drawings and technical submittals.
Technical Skills
- Strong ability to read and interpret:
- Architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Solid knowledge of:
- Fit-out construction methods and materials.
- Experience in:
- Reviewing and coordinating shop drawings
- Preparing RFIs, method statements, and as-built drawings.
- Proficient in:
- AutoCAD
- MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiar with:
- Project schedules
• Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Quality control procedures.
Site Management & Supervision Skills
- Ability to:
- Supervise subcontractors and site teams effectively.
- Distribute daily tasks and monitor performance.
- Ensure works are completed as per approved drawings and schedule.
- Strong coordination skills with:
- Consultants
- Clients
- Suppliers
- Internal project teams.
Handover & Documentation Skills
- Experience in:
- Managing internal and external handovers.
- Preparing handover documents, including:
- Snag lists
- Inspection approvals
- Test reports
- Ability to ensure all works are completed and documented before final handover.
Quality & Safety Skills
- Good knowledge of:
- QA/QC procedures.
- Site safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to:
- Conduct inspections.
- Enforce safety compliance on site.
- Participate in safety meetings and audits.
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal & written).
- Good time management and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- High level of professionalism, responsibility, and attention to detail.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work extended hours when required by project demands.
- Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is an advantage.
- Valid driving license is a plus.
