Project Engineer - Civil (Arabic Speaking)

Role overview

Technical review and site delivery

• Reviews contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for compliance with design intent, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Maintains technical records, drawing registers, and submittal logs; coordinates RFIs between design consultants and site teams.
• Inspects construction activities, supports QA/QC, follows corrective actions, and monitors contractor progress against the master schedule.

Contracts, coordination, and compliance

• Assists with interim payment certificates, variation orders, and technical claims; supports FIDIC contractual correspondence, notices, and instructions.
• Flags technical and schedule risks; coordinates project issues with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Prepares progress and inspection reports and site diaries, and supports client and authority meetings.
• Promotes site safety and supports permits, inspections, and NOC requirements with relevant Dubai authorities.

Requirements

• Requires 8–12 years of real estate development or engineering consultancy experience, including at least five years in the UAE.
• Consultant- or developer-side experience is essential; main-contractor-only experience does not qualify.
• Requires working knowledge of Primavera P6, AutoCAD, FIDIC, submittals, RFIs, and site-level contract administration.
• Requires familiarity with UAE construction codes and authority approvals, including Dubai Municipality, DDA, Civil Defence, and DEWA.
• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture, Arabic, strong written and verbal English, and a valid UAE driving license.
• PMP certification is an added value.
