Project Engineer role based in Abu Dhabi delivering substation automation and switchgear retrofit projects.
The role spans tendering, site execution, commissioning and handover.
Responsibilities
- Lead site work across substations for 11kV RMU and switchgear replacement and retrofit.
- Install, configure and commission RTUs, BCPUs, SCADA, protection relays, PDR radios and network switches.
- Run FAT, SAT, site testing and commissioning with clients and OEM engineers.
- Support DMS integration and end-to-end signal verification.
- Prepare retrofit designs, material submittals, as-built drawings and handover documents.
- Apply IEC-104/101/61850, TCP/IP, Modbus, VPN and cybersecurity practices.
- Support tendering through BOMs, cost sheets, and technical and commercial proposals.
- Maintain ISO and HSE standards on projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5–7 years of relevant experience.
- Previous or valid Project Engineer approval and Competency Certificate from a recognized UAE utility, including TAQA–ADDC/AADC, DEWA, SEWA or EEWA.
- Experience designing, testing and commissioning 11kV RMU/switchgear/BCPU and substation equipment.
- Experience in tendering, estimation, BoM/BoQ and retrofit design.
- Strong troubleshooting skills; able to work independently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Valid UAE driving license preferred.
