Project Accountant – Systems Testing (16-Month Contract)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Execute and coordinate finance BAT and participate in SIT and regression testing.
• Validate accounting and reporting processes across Guidewire, Epicor, and related systems, including interfaces, reports, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial outputs.
• Identify, document, and retest defects and variances, coordinating root-cause analysis and resolution with project teams and vendors.
• Review test cases for finance, accounting-control, reporting, and functionality coverage.
• Support dress rehearsals, cutover, and go-live readiness; validate accounting processes and financial results.
• Maintain scenarios, defect logs, retest and regression outcomes, issue summaries, trackers, reconciliation schedules, and status reports.
• Validate reports, dashboards, extracts, and interfaces; support migration, cutover, blackout-period, and stabilization analysis.
• Improve testing practices, documentation, defect management, and controls over finance system changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years supporting system testing, BAT, SIT, and regression testing; enterprise implementation experience is ideal.
• Experience with ERP and general ledger systems, reporting tools, Excel, defect tracking, interfaces, and large data sets.
• Ability to execute test scenarios, validate results, document defects, coordinate retesting, and validate interconnected end-to-end processes.
• Strong analytical, investigative, problem-solving, attention-to-detail, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Guidewire and Epicor knowledge is an asset.
• Exposure to accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, or finance-related processes is strongly preferred.

Compensation

• Hourly rate is CAD 35.41 to CAD 44.27.
• The role may be eligible for a 4.8% performance bonus target, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.
