Role overview

Required skills and expertise

• Professional degree in architecture and/or interior design.
• High proficiency in Revit, familiarity with BIM tools, and practical understanding of digital design tools.
• At least four years of experience or equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• General understanding of sustainable strategies, including LEED and other green building rating systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Support for compliance with BIM/CAD project standards and procedures.

Preferred qualifications

• Professional licensure process is close to completion.
• LEED accreditation is strongly preferred.
• Relevant digital tools may include Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Navisworks, Ladybug, Enscape, VR, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Position responsibilities

• Create conceptual designs and integrate interdisciplinary criteria for portions of large projects or entire small-scale projects.
• Apply advanced knowledge of materials, finishes, building systems, specifications, codes, standards, construction techniques, and cost trends.
• Research, design, and document work using appropriate tools across project phases.
• Develop interior architecture and architectural designs, including workplace planning and concept development.
• Prepare design documentation, construction documentation, construction administration, and furniture and material specifications.
• Manage workload and guide less experienced staff to meet project deadlines.

Leadership responsibilities

• Lead by example, mentor and train staff, define expectations, delegate appropriately, and contribute to team development.
• Collaborate on work plans supporting project budgets, deliverables, and schedules.
• Contribute to sustainable strategies, standards, policies, procedures, and staff knowledge.
• Help protect SOM from financial and legal risk.
