Production Assembler

Role overview

Duties

• Sort and label housings, components, and carbide inserts using alphanumeric codes and product identifiers.
• Prepare, organize, and stage housings for machining and assembly; engrave housings using designated tools and templates.
• Handle materials in the shop and outdoors; assist machine operators with setup and move materials using overhead hoists and forklifts.
• Operate hand and powered hand tools and other equipment according to company procedures.
• Stack and unstack pipe according to strict procedures.
• Follow safe work procedures and health, safety, quality, and company policies.
• Clean and organize the shop and work areas; participate in training and safety meetings.
• Perform general tasks assigned by the Supervisor and other duties as required.

Skills and qualifications

• Able to meet deadlines while working safely; mechanically inclined and able to use small hand tools and/or power tools.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong aptitude for understanding drawings; good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Grade 12-level basic math skills.
• Grade 12 or GED is preferred; additional education beyond high school is an asset.
• Overhead crane experience and/or certification is preferred.
• Previous manufacturing or similar-environment experience is preferred but not required.

Schedule

• The position is scheduled for day shift, but various shifts and overtime may be required depending on the scope of work.
