Procurement Officer - MEP

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement for electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV project materials and equipment.
• Source, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers and subcontractors for technical compliance, price, quality, delivery, and reliability.
• Compare quotations, prepare comparative statements, and negotiate commercial terms.
• Review requisitions, BOQs, specifications, and project requirements for accurate purchasing.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, estimation, and commercial teams on specifications and budgets.
• Track purchase orders, approvals, deliveries, and outstanding orders against project schedules.
• Identify cost savings without compromising quality or project requirements.
• Maintain supplier relationships, market pricing knowledge, procurement records, databases, and delivery reports.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, project requirements, and budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Mandatory 5–6 years of procurement experience in UAE MEP construction.
• Experience purchasing MEP materials and equipment for construction projects.
• Knowledge of UAE suppliers, manufacturers, material availability, and market pricing.
• Experience with supplier negotiations, quotation analysis, cost control, and purchase order management.
• Ability to interpret BOQs, material specifications, and technical submittals.
• Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines.
