Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Officer to join our company.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement within the engineering or construction industry and possess strong knowledge of sourcing materials, subcontractors, and suppliers for ongoing projects.
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for ensuring timely procurement of materials and services while maintaining quality standards and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for engineering and construction projects.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQ).
- Analyze quotations and prepare commercial comparisons.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Prepare purchase orders and procurement documentation.
- Coordinate with project engineers and site teams regarding material requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
- Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and documentation.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve procurement-related issues.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with project specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with accounts department regarding invoices and payment processing.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor market trends and pricing of construction materials.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement within engineering or construction companies.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, MEP items, and subcontract procurement.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- UAE experience is preferred.
