Procurement Officer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of frozen food, raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies; source and evaluate international suppliers, manufacturers, and exporters.
• Negotiate commercial terms and coordinate international purchasing, import documents, shipping, customs clearance, and delivery.
• Prepare and monitor purchase orders under company policies; monitor stock and replenishment needs to prevent shortages and overstocking.
• Account for shelf life, storage, temperature, and cold-chain requirements for frozen and perishable goods.
• Coordinate with Sales, Production, Warehouse, Quality Control, Logistics, and Finance; evaluate supplier quality, price, reliability, lead times, and compliance.
• Maintain procurement and import records; monitor markets and sourcing opportunities; support budgeting, cost analysis, forecasting, and inventory planning.
• Ensure purchased products and materials meet food safety, quality, import, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 3–7 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in food; frozen food processing, manufacturing, or trading experience is mandatory.
• Strong international buying experience, including overseas sourcing and negotiation, is essential.
• Experience with supplier evaluation, commercial negotiations, purchase orders, and import coordination.
• Knowledge of frozen foods, food quality, shelf life, cold chain, inventory management, stock planning, and procurement cost control.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel; communication, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple purchasing requirements, meet deadlines, and work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• An established international food supplier network, experience managing local and international procurement, and familiarity with trade documents, import procedures, Incoterms, and supplier payment terms are preferred.

• Work is in person; the role is based in Dubai. Relocation or reliable commuting to Dubai is preferred.
