Procurement Manager

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage procurement schedules aligned with the project programme.
• Manage enquiries, tendering, bid analysis and supplier or subcontractor selection.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing and contractual conditions.
• Place and manage purchase orders and subcontract packages.
• Identify long-lead items and support key programme dates.
• Maintain supplier relationships and monitor performance, lead times and delivery commitments.
• Work with the Commercial team to achieve best value while maintaining quality and programme requirements.
• Identify procurement risks and opportunities and put mitigation measures in place.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, project requirements and contractual obligations.

Candidate requirements

• Strong procurement experience in construction, power, energy, utilities, infrastructure or a similar major-project environment.
• Proven experience in a Procurement Manager or senior procurement role.
• Experience procuring subcontract packages, materials, plant and specialist services.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness, negotiation and supplier-management skills.
• Experience in a project-based construction or engineering environment.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement packages and competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with project teams, senior management, suppliers and subcontractors.
• A proactive approach focused on programme, cost, quality and delivery.
