Responsibilities
- Oversee research programs in accelerator and nuclear science, material science, and computing.
- Guide long-term project planning and efficient facility utilization and upgrades.
- Lead senior scientists and administrative teams; manage budgets and resource allocation.
- Maintain regulatory and safety compliance; foster external collaborations and represent VECC in national and international forums.
- Promote an inclusive, ethical, and high-performance research culture.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership in a large scientific or technical organization and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong background in accelerator science and technology, nuclear physics, material science, or a closely related field, with high-quality research and publications.
- Experience in research program management, project planning, complex facilities, and coordination of experimental and theoretical work.
- Proficiency in scientific administration, budgeting, resource management, regulatory compliance, and safety governance.
- Ability to build collaborations; excellent communication and representation skills; commitment to inclusion and mentoring.
- Ph.D. in physics, engineering, or a relevant scientific discipline. Substantial postdoctoral or equivalent research experience is highly desirable.
