Key responsibilities
- Guide fabrication-yard operations to meet industry standards, codes, and project requirements.
- Oversee procedures, equipment selection, consumables, and quality-control measures.
- Develop programs and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity while maintaining safety and quality.
- Inspect and audit work for compliance with welding specifications.
- Train and mentor personnel in welding techniques, safety, and quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and other disciplines to resolve technical issues.
- Coordinate with clients and external stakeholders on welding-related queries and provide technical guidance.
Qualifications and education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; equivalent work experience is accepted.
- Extensive oil and gas fabrication experience focused on offshore modules.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes.
- Successful project execution with emphasis on safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Leadership and communication skills for cross-functional and external collaboration.
- Ability to analyze complex welding issues, develop solutions, and make informed decisions.
