Principal Product Manager - Platform Security

About the role

Platform security ownership

• Define identity and security architecture, including trust boundaries, authentication, authorization, and secrets management.
• Build and maintain a security review process that incorporates security into product roadmap decisions.
• Own the security platform roadmap and provide secure-design leadership across product teams.
• Make decisions on risk acceptance, control exceptions, and incident escalation.

Security products and governance

• Own identity and permissions capabilities for human users and AI agents, including roles, scopes, and delegated access.
• Develop security products such as IP allow lists and SCIM for enterprise customers.
• Improve administrator tooling for configuration, auditing, and governance.
• Guide partner security, shared services, primitives, and audit surfaces.
• Align security strategy with company trust and resilience targets.

Basic qualifications

• 10+ years of B2B SaaS experience spanning product management, security engineering, and/or platform security.
• Experience owning security architecture and risk tiering decisions.
• Track record of running security programs and measuring risk reduction impact.
• Credibility with Engineering, Legal, Product, and go-to-market leadership.
• Experience managing migrations, re-architecture, and authentication or authorization changes.
• Ability to mentor product managers and influence without direct reports.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with zero-trust or hardened multi-tenant isolation architecture is preferred.
• Familiarity with IAM, secrets management, vulnerability and posture tooling is preferred.
• Familiarity with B2B SaaS compliance frameworks, customer security reviews, and audit considerations is preferred.

Compensation

• The stated base salary range is $180,000 to $303,600 USD, with possible bonus, commission, equity, and benefits.
• The compensation text specifies a US salary range while the stored job location is Toronto, Canada.

Workplace

• PagerDuty operates a hybrid work model with offices including Toronto.
• Candidates must reside in an eligible location, and certain Canadian provinces and territories are excluded.
