The Role
You will be the one designer who owns the student experience, primarily the student app where students study, work with an AI tutor, answer questions, and take part in activities including games and head-to-head duels.
You will also shape parts of the live classroom experience.
This is a Senior/Principal-level individual contributor Product Designer role with no design team underneath you and no manager drawing your roadmap.
You take a problem from the first student conversation to the shipped screen and decide what to look at next.
What You Will Do
- Spend real time with students in Saudi schools through interviews, focus groups, and classroom observation, turning what you hear into design decisions and going back to check them.
- Design for Saudi Arabia rather than generic best-practice app patterns, showing why patterns from London or San Francisco often fail here.
- Own the student app end to end: flows, information architecture, prototypes, final UI, and handover to engineering.
- Design activities students want to come back to, including games and duels, with learning as the gate so a more fun but less educational activity is a regression.
- Run experiments by stating a hypothesis, building variants, agreeing the metric, and reading the result honestly, helping build the experimentation practice.
- Work AI-natively, using AI tools for generation, prototyping, and production so your time goes to research and judgement.
- Work directly with the product manager and engineers in short loops and fast releases with no layers.
About You
- Roughly 5 years of experience in UX and product design, with more weight on how many people you have interviewed and what you did with it.
- A research practice you can describe in detail: how you recruit, what you ask, how you synthesise, and how it reached the product.
- A portfolio of projects demonstrating creativity and delivery of results through great consumer-facing mobile-first experiences.
- Proficiency in using various tools and techniques to create and communicate design ideas, such as sketches, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
- Experience conducting user research and testing in different contexts and cultures, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- A strong sense of empathy, curiosity, and creativity, and a willingness to learn and experiment.
