  • Oversee data analysis across collection, governance, and visualisation, and deliver high-quality analysis as needed.
  • Work with programme leaders to set analytical direction, build capability, and ensure high-quality data use.
  • Set and implement standards, processes, and structures for effective data preparation, management, and use.
  • Assure analysis quality across complex place-based projects and teams; produce advanced analysis and visualisations as required.
  • Influence programme decisions, improve data practices, identify opportunities for analysis, and represent the programme externally.
  • Travel within the UK to work with local partners.

Skills and experience

  • Experience leading a high-performing analysis team and creating an inclusive, psychologically safe team culture.
  • Experience supporting others' professional development and guiding them in statistical and analytical techniques.
  • Experience applying statistical and analytical tools, including quantitative analysis within mixed methods research.
  • Experience assuring analytical quality and continually improving methods and outputs.
  • Ability to communicate complex data analysis clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Locations and travel

  • Locations include Bristol, Glasgow, London, Manchester, and York.
  • The role requires travel within the UK to work closely with local partners.

Pay and contract

  • Salary range is £71,734–£83,355, with national and London salary bands; a specialist pay allowance may be available following assessment.
  • The role is fixed-term until March 2028; loan and secondment arrangements are also listed.

  • Civil Service Pension employer contribution is 28.97%.
