The Public Sector Reform Test, Learn and Grow team works with local authorities, government departments, and devolved governments to test and grow public-service improvements.
The programme uses evidence-based pilots and place-based initiatives to support public-service outcomes and innovation.
Role responsibilities
- Line-manage data analysts and data governance managers in the programme team of six.
- Set analytical direction with the Head of Analysis and Evaluation, build capability, and assure data use across multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional oversight, setting high-quality standards for analysis and governance.
- Identify opportunities to leverage analysis across the programme and assure work across complex place-based projects.
- Produce advanced analysis and data visualisation as needed.
- Implement standards, processes, and structures for effective data preparation, management, and use.
- Influence decisions, improve data practices, and represent the analyst community and programme externally.
- Work openly and share often; travel within the UK to work with local partners.
Skills and experience
- Experience leading a high-performing analysis team and creating an inclusive, psychologically safe team culture.
- Experience supporting the professional development of others.
- Experience applying statistical and analytical tools and techniques, including quantitative analysis in mixed methods research.
- Experience overseeing quality assurance of statistical methods and analytical outputs, and improving practices.
- Experience communicating complex analysis clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Travel and location
- The role requires travel within the UK to work closely with local partners.
- Listed locations are Bristol, Glasgow, London, Manchester, and York.
Contract
- The role is listed as fixed term until March 2028.
- The working pattern is flexible working and full-time.
