FDM Group seeks a Power BI Developer for a client in the finance sector.
The engagement is initially a six-month contract with prospects to extend and is described as hybrid in London.
The role builds trusted, governed, scalable reporting solutions and supports data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Power BI data models, integrations, reports, and dashboards.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and reporting solutions.
- Build data connections and ETL processes, and integrate on-premises and cloud-based data platforms.
- Optimise reports, models, and queries for performance, usability, and scalability.
- Implement security controls and support data quality, governance, and documentation.
- Maintain deployment pipelines and workspaces, enable self-service analytics, and support exploratory projects.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
- Proven Power BI experience, including Power Query and DAX, plus hands-on Power BI Gateway experience.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL, relational databases, SQL, and large datasets.
- Implement row-level security and meet data protection and governance standards.
- Optimise Power BI models and reports and support BI governance, deployment pipelines, and workspace management.
Additional preferred familiarity
- Familiarity with Azure services, Power Platform, Databricks, or other BI tools is a plus.
Workplace
- The role is hybrid and based in London.
