Responsibilities

  • Test and inspect backflow prevention assemblies in accordance with applicable standards and municipal requirements
  • Maintain, repair, and rebuild backflow assemblies, including replacing internal parts as needed
  • Diagnose failed assemblies and recommend repairs or replacement
  • Complete and submit test reports accurately and on time to customers and municipalities
  • Communicate findings clearly with customers and team members
  • Provide professional customer service while representing Fraser Valley Fire Protection at customer sites
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations

Requirements

  • Valid BCWWA Backflow Assembly Tester certification
  • Working knowledge of the BC Plumbing Code and municipal cross-connection control bylaws
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Attention to detail in testing and record keeping
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting equipment, working in confined or awkward spaces, and working at various job sites
  • Red Seal Plumber certification, fire sprinkler experience, or an RFPT certification is an asset
  • Experience using ServiceTrade or similar field service software is an asset
