Platform & AI Engineering Lead

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve the buyer marketplace, seller portal and admin portal; keep platforms stable, operational and high-performing.
• Deliver features based on CTO direction; manage GitHub repositories, branching, code reviews and releases.
• Shape AI strategy and design, build and optimize AI and agentic solutions, including parts search, matching, catalogue enrichment and automated support.
• Triage and resolve bugs, production issues and buyer and seller technical support tickets.
• Coordinate, brief and quality-assure offshore and agency developers.
• Maintain documentation, testing standards and deployment processes; monitor performance and security and recommend improvements.

Requirements and experience

• Proven full-stack or platform software engineering experience; marketplace, e-commerce or SaaS experience is preferred or advantageous, not essential.
• Strong modern web development proficiency, including front-end and back-end frameworks, APIs and relational databases.
• Experience with Git/GitHub workflows, CI/CD, release management, LLMs and AI tooling, and deploying and running cloud applications.
• Microsoft Azure is preferred; experience directing or reviewing offshore, outsourced or agency developers is sought.
• Strong debugging skills, structured handling of production issues, independence and clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• UAE experience is preferred.

Languages

• Strong written and spoken English is required.
• Arabic is desirable.

Working model

• The role is UAE-based with a hybrid and flexible working model, including working from home where appropriate.
• The role requires availability for UAE office attendance and team meetings, with occasional flexibility for releases, urgent fixes and collaboration across time zones.
