Role Overview

Works under pharmacist supervision to serve medical outpatients and inpatients in accordance with prescriptions, medication orders, the formulary, and applicable standards.
Pharmacy duties
- Prepare and dispense medications and preparations; compound when applicable and prepare prescriptions for pharmacist dispensing.
- Maintain patient medication profiles and screen for contraindications, allergies, dose accuracy, drug and food interactions, duplicate therapy, and restricted-drug policies.
- Perform delegated specialty pharmacy activities.
- Follow correct medication handling and storage procedures and recognize changes that could affect medication suitability.
- Maintain inventory, monitor expiration dates, and maintain proper drug storage and security.
- Label high-alert medications, concentrated electrolytes, and hazardous materials appropriately.
- Work required shifts and follow pharmacy laws, circulars, regulations, and established guidelines.
- Remain in the pharmacy only when a pharmacist is present.
Qualifications and experience
- Valid DOH license as a Pharmacy Technician or Assistant Pharmacist.
- Two-year Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm).
- Two years of pharmacy practice experience in the UAE.
- Current, valid home-country license to practice without conditions or limitations.
- Excellent oral and written English.
- Knowledge of medication handling, prescription processing, and pharmacy procedures.
- Good communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Understanding of UAE healthcare regulations and medication safety standards.
Schedule
- Must work shifts or hours that meet the operational requirements of the assigned unit or group.
