Pharmacy Technician position in the Pharmacy Services program at Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering.
The role reports to the Manager, Pharmacy and supports technical drug distribution and patient safety.
Duties and responsibilities
- Perform the technical aspects of drug distribution as a member of the Pharmacy team.
- Help ensure pharmaceutical products are safe, accurate, high-quality, integral, and released on time.
Qualifications
- Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Registered Pharmacy Technician, or graduation from a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician program and being within six months of OCP registration.
- Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes, traditional and unit-dose.
- Demonstrated accuracy, organization, problem-solving, multitasking, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to the organization's values and safety programs, including regular safety in-service education.
- A satisfactory performance record is required.
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of pharmacy automation, including unit-dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets, is preferred.
- Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel, are preferred.
Schedule
- Eight-hour shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends; schedule is subject to change.
Work location
- Position is located at Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering.
Compensation
- Wage range is CAD 35.090 to CAD 40.260 per hour.
Conditions of employment
- External applicants must provide a satisfactory vulnerable-sector criminal investigation reference dated within the past six months.
- New team members must complete a pre-employment health assessment.
