Minimum Experience
- A total of at least fifteen (15) years’ experience in an Electrical Power Utility or Company as an
- Electrical Engineer in Transmission Network.
- Ten (10) Years experience in the field of PD measurement especially in TEV, Ultrasonic,
- Cable PD(HFCT/RFCT), VLF, HV test, TDR, CVD measurement & localization
- Sound technical knowledge of Transmission Substations equipment.
- Sound Knowledge of different types PD activity such as Internal discharge/Voids, Surface
- discharge/Tracking, Floating/Arcing/loose components, Cable core insulation, Cable sealing
- end, and cable compound due to the presence of moisture, ageing or reasons whatsoever
- Sound Knowledge of online continuous monitoring and offline testing systems and diagnosis.
- Sound knowledge of Condition Monitoring techniques especially in the field of PD
- measurement.
- Sound knowledge and certified person of all types of instruments which are proposed to
- execute scope of work as Spot online monitoring, continuous online monitoring, CVD PD
- monitoring, offline PD monitoring, testing and localization.
- Should be able to independently evaluate the health of Transmission Substation equipment
- and provide recommendation.
- Conversant with all aspects of safety with high voltage installations.
- Sound knowledge of international standards.
- Sound Knowledge of localization and diagnosis.
- Sound Knowledge to distinguish between genuine PD and noise.
- Sound Knowledge of diagnostic of different type PD of and Patterns
Responsibilities
- Receive and evaluate all technical inputs / reports from the field’s team.
- Effective usage of Condition Monitoring software
- Asset Management Decision Support System.
- Prepare final analysis reports as per client’s specifications.
- Decision Support System including health index and recommendation.
- Provide technical solution to PD related issues
- Checking accuracy and correctness of data
- Attend progress meetings and conduct presentations whenever required by the
- management and client along with Project team.
- Facilitate smooth administration of the project.
- Complete all works within the agreed period of time.
- Carry out all works in accordance with the Project Technical Requirements etc.
- Obtain authorization to receive the Safety documents (Limitation of Access “LOA” & Cold
- and Hot Permit to Work “PTW”)
- Attend at site during any offline PD, HV testing activities and ground fault monitoring and
- testing.
- Site visit during PD investigation, monitoring, testing and rectification work.
- Supervise subordinates’ work.

- The following details and documents wherever applicable for the proposed PD Technical
- Expert shall be submitted along with the CV and education certificates:
- Educational Qualification details
- Elaborate experience in online and offline continuous monitoring/ testing systems,
- localization and diagnosis.
- This shall include: TEV, Ultrasonic, HFCT, CVD PD, HV testing,
- & VLF PD Measurements.
- Elaborate experience in Electrical Power Transmission Networks.
- Experience all aspects of safety with high voltage equipment
- Certification issued by PD Technology providers/ OEM for PD Monitoring systems.
- List of different types of PD instrument, Kits, accessories and sensors used.
- Average number of PD analysis reports prepared per year.
- Mention few cases where real PD have been identified, localized, distinguish noise signal,
- genuine PD signal and genuine PD signal masked up with noise signal.
- Name of utilities/ companies where PD measurement analysis has been carried out in
- past years.
- List out hands on experience on different types of PD measurements technique
- (conventional & non-conventional methods)
- Average number of medium voltage PD measurement carried out per year
- List of PD training attended including year of certification
- Present working project
- Notice period from present project
Working Hours
- The PD Technical Expert should be prepared in case requirements to work beyond the normal
- working time are required due to exigencies.
