Pastry Chef – Job Description
A Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of desserts, pastries, breads, cakes, and other baked products while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, breads, desserts, and other bakery items.
- Develop and decorate desserts according to company standards.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and stock levels.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and pastry section.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation of products.
- Assist in creating new menu items and seasonal desserts.
- Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Supervise and train junior pastry staff when required.
- Control food costs and minimize wastage.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker.
- Knowledge of baking techniques and dessert preparation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- Good time management and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Preferred Skills
- Cake decorating and dessert presentation.
- Menu planning and recipe development.
- Experience in hotels, restaurants, cafés, or bakeries.
- Pay: ﷼2,700.00 - ﷼3,500.00 per month
