Role Overview

Faculty are responsible for providing high quality instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners so that each student may meet course outcomes and achieve their educational goals.
An instructor is responsible for providing high quality instruction so that each student may meet course outcomes.
Collaborate with the Dean and colleagues to improve the student learning experience.
Being hired into the regular part-time instructor pool is not a guarantee of employment.
Classes are assigned on an as-needed basis.
Hours will vary each class and by term.
The number of openings for instructors is dependent upon student enrollment.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Philosophy from an accredited institution.
- Two semesters of recent college instructional experience in post-secondary Philosophy or documented successful completion of college classroom pedagogical training.
- Preferences:
- Two semesters of recent college instructional experience in lower division Philosophy as instructor of record
- Demonstrated working knowledge of current issues, trends, and developments in Philosophy instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize a variety of teaching and assessment methods including lecture, discussion, collaborative learning, and interactive tools.
- Demonstrated ability to relate and explain complex subject matter to first- and second-year college students.
- Experience teaching in online and face-to-face delivery modes.
- Best consideration by Oct 15th.
