Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area for yourself and other employees
  • Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
  • Maintain packaging flow by ensuring adequate product levels at each station
  • Ensure quotas are met by observing Packaging Support team members and training/coaching
  • Maintain high-quality standards during shifts including constant QA/QC of all products being prepped and produced
  • Ability to work well with others in high-pressure situations with a sense of urgency
  • Communicate discrepancies in quantities or quality of product
  • Perform opening and closing duties
  • Ensure proper storage of all facility consumables and products; storing food products in compliance with safety practices
  • Maintain and comply with sanitation and safety standard; maintaining a clean and organized packaging area and work environment
  • Perform visual quality inspections on products, minimize waste where possible
  • Effectively communicate information and respond to questions/suggestions from various levels within the company Assist Production Supervisors and Managers in training and coaching Packaging Support employees on proper procedures, techniques and compliance protocol Communicate quality or safety discrepancies to Supervisors, Managers and/or Directors
  • Assist Production Supervisors and Managers in training and coaching Packaging Support employees on proper procedures, techniques and compliance protocol
  • Communicate quality or safety discrepancies to Supervisors, Managers and/or Directors
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding personnel evaluation and training of the Packaging Support team
  • Assist the Production Manager or Packaging Supervisor as needed
  • Ensure a safe working environment; reviewing and communicating daily on all safety related topics of discussion
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • At least 1 year of directly related experience and/or training in a food production or manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of lead or supervisory experience
  • Must have experience and familiarity with food manufacturing, sanitation and safety regulations
  • Must have experience working with a high sense of urgency
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft suite (core applications), Google, Slack, experience in Jira and/or other management platforms and software preferred
  • Language Skills: Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
  • Math Skills: Possess basic mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel required between buildings and sites
  • Ability to maintain/manage confidential information
  • State regulations require all applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • ServSafe or Food Handler’s Card preferred
  • Will be required to submit to a background check
  • Must obtain all applicable state-required permits, licenses, and certifications

Benefits

  • As a non-exempt employee , you'll receive a competitive hourly wage of $23.00-$27.75/hr paid biweekly, 11 paid holidays, 80 hours of PTO and fully paid health, dental and vision insurance.
