The Operations Manager oversees steel structure contracting and construction project operations.
The role is responsible for safe, efficient delivery within budget and schedule and to required quality standards.
Work location is in person.
Key responsibilities
- Manage project operations from mobilization through completion and handover; lead project managers, site engineers, supervisors, QA/QC and HSE teams, and subcontractors.
- Plan and monitor execution, manpower, equipment, materials, and resources; coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure steel works follow approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and schedules; oversee erection, fabrication, welding, bolting, cladding, and roofing.
- Monitor progress, productivity, costs, variations, and profitability; identify risks, delays, and issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure HSE, QA/QC, and construction standards compliance; review performance and report to senior management.
- Support commercial and procurement teams, ensure testing, inspection, and timely handover, and maintain client satisfaction.
Requirements
- 10–15 years of construction or contracting experience, including strong structural steel project experience.
- Proven senior Operations Manager or Projects Manager experience, including management of multiple projects and large multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, erection, welding, bolting, and site execution.
- Strong understanding of planning, budgeting, contracts, and cost control; excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent Arabic speaker with strong English communication skills.
- An engineering degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- UAE or GCC contracting experience is highly preferred.
