Ocean Freight Pricing Specialist

Role overview

Pricing and tender activities

• Assist with pricing strategies aligned with corporate guidelines and trade-lane objectives; support standard and spot quote proposals.
• Prepare accurate inputs for local tender pricing and support global tender responses, coordinating timely submissions.
• Respond promptly to spot quote requests requiring manual input while following pricing guidelines.
• Monitor carrier rate changes, capacity, and competitor pricing and share insights with the commercial team.
• Support negotiations for local charges, including handling, pickup and delivery, demurrage, detention, and storage.

Data, coordination, and compliance

• Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, Service Delivery, Trade Management, Procurement, and the Ocean Commercial Center.
• Maintain rates, tariffs, surcharges, DDS free days and rates, and transit times in systems such as MTS, RMS, and CW1 DDS/DDH.
• Support timely resolution of cost- and sell-related disputes.
• Ensure FMC compliance through accurate and timely NRA issuance and acceptance.
• Monitor win rates and margin performance and support analysis of improvement opportunities and pricing-process compliance.
• Share knowledge and best practices with peers.

What you need

• Proficiency in Excel and database tools.
• Foundational understanding of freight forwarding and supply chain logistics.
• Knowledge of local ocean carriers and transport providers.
• Structured, detail-oriented, service-minded, proactive, and collaborative approach.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional high-pressure situations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/qualification.
• Less than 2 years of experience.
