New Product Development Executive

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Take an active interest in market developments and emerging perfume industry trends to contribute ideas for new product development.
• Regularly visit market stores and research new technologies and materials available from suppliers that may benefit ongoing and future projects.
• Update and manage work requirement lists to help designers understand weekly priorities and assign work according to capabilities and business needs.
• Manage the design team to ensure accurate artwork and technical specifications are completed before submission to suppliers.
• Review and verify product specifications for all new product developments to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare product costings and technical specifications, making updates and adjustments as required to meet client briefs and budget expectations.
• Ensure pre-production samples are completed correctly and within required timelines by suppliers according to approved specifications.
• Coordinate closely with suppliers to ensure products are manufactured as required and to minimize potential production or technical issues.
• Analyze supplier technical drawings, manufacturing methods, and technical processes to ensure project feasibility and quality standards.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and select suppliers for projects based on cost control, technical capability, lead-time management, and overall performance.
• Maintain and update project status in ERP, ensuring all project activities and actions are accurately recorded across relevant boards.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of product development and supplier management processes.
• Excellent organizational and project coordination skills.
• Ability to analyze technical specifications, drawings, and production processes.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of perfume, packaging, cosmetics, or related industries is an advantage.
