Network Engineer – Airport Operations & Maintenance

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot the airport’s network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, networking monitoring tools, and fiber networks.
• Ensure high availability and performance of operational systems such as CCTV, access control systems, and airside communication networks.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Support 24/7 airport operations by responding to incidents, outages, and service requests within defined SLAs.
• Conduct network performance analysis and implement improvements to enhance reliability and security.
• Manage configuration, patching, and updates for network devices in compliance with aviation and cybersecurity standards.
• Collaborate with airport operations, IT security, airlines, and third‑party vendors to ensure seamless system integration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and maintenance activities.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements relevant to airport operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably in airport environments.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise‑grade network equipment (Cisco, Juniper, HPE, etc.).
• Experience with IP Addressing and subnetting
• Hands‑on experience in Switching technology such as stacking, spanning-tree, VTP, LACP/PAgP, CDP/LLDP, FHRP and others
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, MPLS, VPNs, and QoS.
• Familiarity with airport operational systems is an advantage.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco Prime, NNMi).
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, CompTIA N+/S+, or equivalent preferred.
