NDT Technician (PCN)

Job Summary

Qualifications

• PCN UT Level 3.1 & 3.2 certification
• ASNT Level II certification (preferred/required based on project)

Experience

• Minimum **8 years of overall experience** in NDT
• Minimum **4 years of experience after PCN certification**
• Experience in **Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or related industrial sectors**
• GCC experience will be an advantage

Key Responsibilities

• Perform **weld scanning using Ultrasonic Testing (UT)** in accordance with approved procedures and standards
• Carry out **material testing activities** including:

• Positive Material Identification (PMI)

• Hardness testing
• Ferrite content measurement
• Interpret inspection results and ensure compliance with applicable codes and specifications
• Prepare detailed **inspection and test reports**
• Ensure calibration and proper functioning of testing equipment
• Verify weld quality and identify discontinuities as per acceptance criteria
• Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, supervisors, and client representatives
• Follow strict **HSE and site safety procedures** during all inspection activities

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of **UT principles and weld defect evaluation**
• Experience in **PMI, hardness, and ferrite testing techniques**
• Familiarity with codes and standards such as **ASME, API, ASTM, and ISO**
• Good analytical and reporting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills

Certification Requirements

• Valid **PCN UT 3.1 & 3.2 certification (Mandatory)**
• ASNT Level II certification (preferred)
• Additional NDT certifications will be an advantage
