Naval Architect sought for the Hull Division on an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) project in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities
- Design and develop hull lines, hull forms, and structural layouts for USV platforms.
- Perform hydrodynamic, resistance, stability, and seakeeping analysis for hulls.
- Manage hull weight estimates, budgets, and weight distribution.
- Oversee hull fabrication, composite construction, and outfitting.
- Conduct hull performance trials and analyze sea-trial data.
- Ensure hull designs comply with maritime stability rules and classification standards.
- Collaborate with systems, mechanical, and propulsion teams on hull integration.
- Optimize hulls for speed, endurance, payload, and stealth.
Technical skills
- Hull design and structural engineering expertise.
- Hands-on experience with CFD or hydrodynamic simulation tools, with Maxsurf, Star-CCM+, Rhino, and Orca3D listed as examples.
- Strong knowledge of maritime stability rules, composites, and marine materials.
- Experience with buoyancy, trim, and stability calculations.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in naval architecture, marine vessel design, or hull design.
- Degree in naval architecture, marine engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with USVs, high-speed boats, patrol boats, or autonomous marine systems is preferred.
- Willingness to undertake field work and support sea trials; immediate joiners are preferred.
Compensation
- AED 8,000–10,000 per month.
Work location
- Abu Dhabi, UAE; the role includes field work and sea-trial support.
