Role Description

The Modern Trade Sales Supervisor – Food Section is responsible for managing and growing sales performance across modern trade customers (such as hypermarkets, supermarkets, and key retail chains).

The role focuses on execution excellence, team supervision, key account coordination, product availability, merchandising standards, and achieving sales targets for food category FMCG products.

Sales & Business Development

  • Execute company sales strategies and promotional plans across modern trade accounts.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets (volume, value, distribution, and visibility).
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance versus targets and take corrective actions.
  • Support the Key Account Manager in negotiations, promotions, and new product listings.

Customer & Account Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with store managers, category managers, and buyers.
  • Resolve customer issues related to availability, pricing, and execution.
  • Conduct regular store visits to ensure execution standards are met.

Team Supervision

  • Supervise and coach Sales Representatives and Merchandisers assigned to modern trade outlets.
  • Set daily priorities, route plans, and key focus activities for the team.
  • Monitor team productivity, attendance, and performance.
  • Provide on-the-job training and performance feedback.

Merchandising & Execution

  • Ensure full product availability, correct shelf placement, and planogram compliance.
  • Monitor stock levels, prevent out-of-stocks and expiry issues (FIFO/FEFO).
  • Ensure promotions are executed correctly (price offs, displays, POS materials).
  • Coordinate with merchandising agencies or internal teams where applicable.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare regular sales reports, market intelligence, and performance analysis.
  • Track competitor activities, pricing, promotions, and new launches.
  • Provide feedback to management on market trends and opportunities.

Coordination & Compliance

  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and Warehouse teams.
  • Ensure company policies, trade compliance, and ethical standards are followed.
  • Ensure health, safety, and quality standards are respected in all stores.

& Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • **3–6 years**
  • of FMCG sales experience, with strong exposure to modern trade.
  • Experience in the
  • food category
  • is highly preferred.
  • Supervisory or team-leading experience is an advantage.

  • Analytical mindset with strong reporting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Excel and sales reporting tools
