Middle Office Analyst – Gas
Role Overview
The role supports Koch Minerals & Trading’s Global Gas business, which trades LNG and natural gas from London and Geneva.
The analyst works with Natural Gas and LNG traders and CFO team members, supporting existing business and new initiatives.
The position offers experience across trade capture and reconciliation, P&L and physical operations, with a hands-on focus on trading-system integrity and daily positions.

The role supports Koch Minerals & Trading’s Global Gas business, which trades LNG and natural gas from London and Geneva.
The analyst works with Natural Gas and LNG traders and CFO team members, supporting existing business and new initiatives.
The position offers experience across trade capture and reconciliation, P&L and physical operations, with a hands-on focus on trading-system integrity and daily positions.
What you will do
- Reconcile positions daily and validate trades and prices.
- Perform position optimization calculations and deal reviews; substantiate balance sheet accounts at month end.
- Develop understanding of global gas trading strategies and provide ad hoc business analysis and reporting.
- Contribute to projects and process improvements, using technology to drive efficiency.
- Coordinate and support business expansion projects involving new structures, products, commodities or geographies.
- Maintain trading-system integrity and manage active positions daily.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Engineering.
- Significant proficiency in Excel and experience with commodities.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, diligence and attention to detail.
Beneficial experience and skills
- Power BI experience is beneficial.
- Coding or programming ability is advantageous; examples include SQL, VBA, Power BI and Python.
- Prior experience with or application of AI technology is an advantage.
- Enthusiasm for the role and market and polished interpersonal communication skills are valued.
