Responsible for daily shift operations of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club and, if applicable, Laundry.
Ensures guest rooms, public spaces, and employee areas are clean and well maintained while supporting guest satisfaction and operating-budget goals.
Education and experience
- High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in housekeeping or a related professional area; alternatively, a two-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major with no work experience required.
Housekeeping operations and budgets
- Communicate guest room status to the Front Desk; inspect rooms and public spaces; prepare room-cleaning assignments.
- Monitor stock, supplies, equipment, and uniforms; supervise daily operations and compliance with housekeeping standards.
- Manage department operations toward property financial goals and budget targets; communicate priorities and follow up with staff.
Employee management
- Train new room attendants and provide follow-up training; schedule employees and track time and attendance.
- Supervise staffing levels, give feedback, address employee concerns, support recognition, and participate in discipline procedures.
- Maintain collaborative employee relationships and communicate expectations and departmental goals.
Guest service
- Set a positive example in guest relations and promote the brand's service culture.
- Help develop and implement corrective action plans, respond to guest problems and complaints, and strive to improve service performance.
