Overview

Application Development and Architecture

• Design, build, and deploy Mendix web applications using best-practice architecture and development patterns.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, high-quality Mendix solutions.
• Develop complex domain models, microflows, nanoflows, workflows, and responsive UI components using Atlas UI, page templates, and custom widgets.
• Build custom components using Java and JavaScript actions in line with company conventions and best practices.
• Design Mendix security models covering user roles, module roles, and entity, page, and microflow access using least privilege.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and compliance with enterprise standards.
• Conduct code reviews to enforce quality, consistency, and maintainability.
• Implement auditing, logging, and monitoring and champion DevOps, BizDevOps, and SecDevOps principles.
• Build reusable productized modules for use across applications and projects.

Integration and System Design

• Integrate Mendix applications with external systems through REST, SOAP, OData, Kafka, databases, and identity providers including OIDC and Azure AD.
• Design, document, and publish REST and SOAP APIs with versioning, authentication, and rate limiting.
• Design modular reusable components including modules, microflows, nanoflows, snippets, document templates, and Mendix Building Blocks.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, infrastructure teams, and system owners to align solutions with the broader IT landscape.
• Maintain clean code, in-app documentation, LLDs, API documentation, and complete handover deliverables.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

• Mendix Advanced certification is required; Mendix Expert certification is preferred.
• Require 5+ years of Mendix development experience and delivery of at least one complex application to production.
• Require expert knowledge of domain modeling, microflows, nanoflows, security models, Java/JavaScript actions, and Mendix best practices.
• Require strong Java and JavaScript proficiency for custom actions, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Require strong REST and SOAP web services experience, API design, and API documentation skills.
• Require advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, and indexing.
• Require Git-based development, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and experience performing multiple Mendix major upgrades.
• Require hands-on on-premise environment experience and understanding of networking, certificates, firewalls, and proxy configurations.
• Require proficiency using AI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT to accelerate development, debugging, and documentation.

Soft Skills

• Apply analytical problem-solving skills to complex integration and performance issues under tight deadlines while remaining calm and positive.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally, including professional client emails, documentation, and client-facing discussions.
• Use stakeholder-management and facilitation skills in workshops and requirement sessions.
• Work effectively in agile, scaled-agile, and waterfall environments while managing scope and customer expectations.
• Identify blockers, propose solutions, and drive initiatives independently.
