A Medium Voltage Design Engineer plans, develops, and specifies electrical power distribution systems in line with safety standards and project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create single-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, wiring layouts, and substation layouts.
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, voltage drop, motor starting, cable sizing, and protective relay coordination studies.
- Select and specify switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, busbars, and surge arresters.
- Release bills of materials, technical data sheets, and comprehensive design packages for manufacturing or construction.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, project managers, and vendors to review equipment submittals.
- Provide factory or site support.
Requirements and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 2 to 8+ years of relevant experience in electrical power distribution, substations, or switchgear design.
- Proficiency in drafting tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, E-Plan, or Engineering Base, alongside power system analysis software such as ETAP or SKM.
Pay
- Pay is AED 1 per month as stated in the posting.
