Responsibilities

  • Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses for insurance billing using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients to ensure correct billing.
  • Submit insurance claims electronically or manually to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with payer requirements.
  • Post payments from insurance companies and patients into the billing system.
  • Address patient billing questions, clarifications, and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure all billing processes adhere to current healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or a similar role in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficient in using medical billing software
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing codes
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and billing tasks.
