Mechanical Engineer – HVAC

Role Overview

HVAC Execution

• Supervise installation of chillers, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, VRF/split systems, package units, and exhaust or ventilation fans.
• Oversee ductwork, chilled-water and refrigerant piping, insulation, and condensate drainage.
• Review and prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings, and HVAC layouts.
• Check heat-load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, and equipment selection; resolve site technical and trade coordination issues.

Testing and Coordination

• Plan and oversee chilled-water pressure testing, flushing, and cleaning; coordinate testing, adjusting, and balancing of air and water systems.
• Supervise equipment commissioning with suppliers and specialist subcontractors, and coordinate BMS integration and controls testing.
• Coordinate submissions and inspections with Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Municipality, and district cooling providers where applicable.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, attend meetings, and close consultant comments and NCRs.

Planning, Quality, and Handover

• Prepare BOQs, material take-offs, and material submittals; review technical submittals and compare supplier offers.
• Track progress against the project schedule, submit daily and weekly reports, and manage manpower and subcontractor work.
• Raise inspection requests and ensure work meets quality standards; enforce safe working practices, including for work at height and hot works.
• Prepare as-built drawings, testing and commissioning reports, O&M manuals, and warranties; support snagging, defect rectification, and client training.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of HVAC execution experience on building projects, including at least 3 years in the UAE.
• Hands-on experience with chilled water systems, VRF, AHUs/FCUs, and ducted systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; HAP or similar load calculation software is a plus.
• Strong coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills; UAE driving license preferred.

Pay

• AED 5,000–7,000 per month.
