Mechanical Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical installations and verify that work meets design specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and other building systems for correct installation and operation.
• Analyze drawings, blueprints, and specifications; identify issues and develop solutions.
• Conduct site inspections and report on progress, compliance, and deviations.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, other trades, project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records, test reports, and commissioning data.
• Participate in equipment commissioning and handover.
• Manage and mentor on-site mechanical teams.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in building-construction site supervision as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems in commercial and residential buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Experience preparing technical reports and construction documentation.
• Experience with construction projects in the United Arab Emirates.
• A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment.

Workplace and onboarding

• The role provides on-site supervision at construction sites in Dubai.
• New hires are required to attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
