Role overview

Mechanical work

• Dismantle, assemble, move, and align machinery using hoists, cranes, chain falls, hand and power tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, and precision instruments.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to determine procedures and install machinery to plans and drawings.
• Inspect materials and machines using precision measuring equipment.
• Perform machining and welding to make parts for laboratory and shop training equipment.
• Determine equipment specifications and prepare parts lists for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic devices.
• Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies, and perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Notify the engineer when transported or received materials are ready for use.

Inventory and site support

• Ship, receive, inventory, and control major equipment, tools, supplies, and materials.
• Prepare materials and consumables requests and delivery order letters for items leaving the plant site.
• Prepare quarterly inventory reports and maintain minimum stock levels for tools, consumables, materials, and stationery.
• Safely handle, store, dispose of, and record chemical inventories.
• Maintain and inspect inventories of lifting accessories, scaffolding, electrical and power tools, hand tools, machinery, and PPE, including availability and storage records.

Required qualifications

• At least one year maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines.
• Valid driver's license.
• English proficiency required.
• Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments; travel may be required.

Desired qualifications

• An associate degree in a technical field or Gas Turbine Systems is preferred.
• Desired experience includes complex rotating equipment assembly, bolting, hydraulic bolting, flange management, small-bore piping, basic rigging/lifting, or overhead crane operation.
• Desired characteristics include mechanical and technical skills, oral communication, critical thinking, time management, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
