About SECURE

SECURE provides waste management and energy infrastructure services across Western Canada and North Dakota.

Its services include resource recovery, waste disposal, recycling, and contaminated-land reclamation.

Role overview

The Measurement Specialist supports accurate, compliant, and defensible measurement across SECURE energy infrastructure assets.

The role supports measurement assurance, data integrity, custody transfer, facility balancing, volumetric reporting, and commercial decisions.

The position is based in Calgary, Alberta, and reports to the Measurement Lead.

Work environment

  • Work combines technical analysis, systems and data management, field support, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Travel to facilities and field locations may be required for audits, troubleshooting, commissioning, proving, and operational initiatives.

Compliance and operational assurance

  • Maintain and distribute the Measurement Compliance Plan, measurement practices, operating procedures, and related documentation.
  • Conduct audits and records reviews, follow up in the field, identify and track corrective actions, and escalate material or recurring non-compliance.
  • Train Operations and facility administration staff on measurement practices, transaction controls, documentation, and the compliance plan.
  • Prepare measurement-related EPAP documentation, audit evidence, follow-up responses, and submission packages.
  • Apply approved measurement practices to gathering-system inlets, truck offloads, inventories, custody transfers, blending, and product ticketing for oil, water, condensate, and butane.

TMS, data, and troubleshooting

  • Validate TMS transactions, review exceptions, monitor data quality, and maintain configuration records and change documentation within delegated authority.
  • Complete user acceptance testing, validate integrations and downstream outputs, document results, resolve defects, and verify system performance after approved changes.
  • Investigate anomalies, customer and intercompany inquiries, and data-quality issues; document findings and recommend corrective action.
  • Coordinate approved volume corrections, estimates, and revised transactions while preserving original data, rationale, approvals, and auditability.

Balancing and improvement

  • Support facility and pipeline balancing for receipts, deliveries, transfers, inventories, and oil and water movements; investigate exceptions with Operations and Volumetric Accounting.
  • Review inventories, product movements, outbound measurement, cut-off timing, and reconciliation data; support pipeline leak-detection investigations as directed.
  • Complete month-end hydrocarbon blend shrinkage calculations, distribute results, and distinguish calculated shrinkage, confirmed corrections, and unexplained imbalances.

Requirements

  • Support measurement assurance and data integrity across energy infrastructure assets.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Operations, Accounting, Engineering, Maintenance, and technical vendors.
  • Travel to facilities and field locations may be required for audits, troubleshooting, commissioning, proving, and operational initiatives.
