KOTT is hiring full-time Material Handlers for its Ottawa location.
The work is physically challenging and outdoors in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule and pay
- Monday to Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; every other Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- The stated wage range is $20 to $25 per hour.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Pick lumber and materials used to build walls and floors.
- Ensure orders are complete and accurate and identify issues or discrepancies.
- Safely bundle, strap, and label packages to prepare them for the next handling stage.
Requirements and experience
- Hands-on work experience, attention to quality and detail, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift heavy materials daily and stand for long periods; communicate well in English.
- CSA-approved safety footwear is required; KOTT supplies other personal protective equipment.
- Forklift experience is preferred but not required; framing experience is a strong asset.
- One year of framing, forklift, or construction experience is preferred.
- Reliable transportation is essential because the work location is not on a bus route.
