Job Purpose

Responsible for writing, editing, proofreading, and translating copy in both English & Arabic for a variety of projects (including print, web, mobile, video, social media, articles, blogs, newsletters, emailers and product collateral), working closely with Marketing, Business teams and the in-house designer to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop messaging in line with the business needs, products/services, branding, and marketing goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal teams to participate in all stages of the creative process, from brainstorming to conceptual development, thereby contributing creative strategies.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times.
  • Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action.
  • Comfortably vary voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by the business or target audience at hand.
  • Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging.
  • Research and understand the businesses' needs and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings.
  • Understand the concept behind creative work and how it achieves business goals.
  • Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts through execution on required material.
  • Stay on top of trends through business/industry monitoring and outside resources.

Operational & Technical Responsibilities

  • Produce written materials in a variety of formats, including print collateral (press materials, brochures), Web and interactive content, considering responses from the target audience.
  • Ensure written materials are clear, concise and persuasive to help bring the strategy to life.
  • Understand the target audience to translate copy and design into compelling creative.
  • Write original copy and edit/proofread content for a range of corporate marketing, product and advertising / communications materials.
  • Translate required English copy into Arabic in the correct style, tone of voice and approach, in line with brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams from concept development to delivery of final product.
  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to teams.
  • Revise copy based on feedback/direction.
  • Proofread written work and online content.
  • Juggle multiple assignments and work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Manage time and establish priorities whilst maintaining flexibility to respond to changing demands.
  • Help communicate creative ideas in presentations.

Essential

  • **Emirati national with family book**
  • Two to three years of relevant experience, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic language with excellent editorial, writing, proofreading, presentation, and communication skills, with demonstrated experience in conceptual writing in marketing or advertising, Web, product, brand messaging and promotional copy.
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in English or related major.
  • Experience in an environment working with marketing, advertising, or PR campaigns.
  • Ability to think strategically and conceptualise creatively.
  • Strong presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with a fast-paced team.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to own projects, demonstrate good judgment when working with team members and business stakeholders, and take initiative.
  • Team player with a sense of ownership and a "get things done" approach.
  • Basic knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Good knowledge of the region and awareness of cultural impacts.

Desirable

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, within the insurance or financial sector.
  • Good knowledge of insurance products and their technical specifications.
  • A master’s degree, preferably in English or related major.
