Role overview

People and resource leadership

• Lead and develop systems engineers through supervisors, team leads, and technical staff.
• Set workforce, succession, organizational capability, and resource-allocation strategies.
• Oversee recruitment, development, engagement, retention, performance management, and leadership development.
• Forecast resources and capacity across Programs, Product Development, R&D, and Business Development.
• Oversee facilities, tools, infrastructure, budgets, forecasting, and capital investment planning.

Functional and technical leadership

• Establish Systems Engineering policies, processes, procedures, standards, and governance frameworks, and promote consistent implementation.
• Monitor performance metrics, quality objectives, audit findings, corrective actions, and relevant compliance.
• Maintain engineering methodologies, standards, competency frameworks, and technical governance; address capability gaps and significant risks.
• Sponsor adoption of emerging engineering methods, tools, and technologies.

Business and transformation

• Organize Systems Engineering participation in proposal development, bid reviews, customer engagements, and strategic pursuits.
• Align organizational priorities, resources, and technical capabilities with partner functions; support protection of intellectual property.
• Lead transformation and continuous improvement, including Digital Engineering, MBSE, AI-assisted engineering, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of engineering and engineering leadership experience, including planning, budgeting, workforce development, performance management, and mentorship.
• Experience in workforce planning, budgeting, organizational leadership, strategic planning, and engineering process improvement.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle processes, requirements management, systems architecture, verification and validation, and modern engineering practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Space-industry or related-field experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, conflict-resolution, and people skills.

Security requirements

• Successful candidates must obtain and hold reliability-status security clearance and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program.

Compensation and benefits

• The compensation range is $102,000–$160,000 annually; the offer depends on qualifications and experience.
