About the role
Lead Marketing and Consumer Privacy Engineering as two pillars with a shared mission to build trusted, privacy-aware consumer web experiences and measurement systems that support sustainable growth.
What you’ll do
- Develop and support engineers across both pillars, and establish a shared operating model with clear priorities, ownership, decision-making, and ways of working.
- Partner with product managers and technical leads to translate priorities into engineering plans and deliver roadmaps.
- Guide work across Logged-Out Web, web experimentation, marketing integrations, attribution, measurement, consent, privacy experiences, and consumer data collection.
- Build cross-functional partnerships and clarify ownership for shared client-side and server-side tagging and measurement infrastructure.
- Include consent, cookies, tagging, and consumer data collection in solution design, balancing growth, measurement, and consumer privacy.
- Ensure reliable, scalable delivery while balancing engineering quality, customer needs, business priorities, speed, and risk.
What we’re looking for
- Experience managing and developing software engineers through coaching, candid feedback, and accountability.
- Strong software engineering foundation and technical judgment; consumer-facing or high-traffic web platform and complex integration experience is ideal.
- Experience turning product and business priorities into engineering plans and leading execution across technical domains and roadmaps.
- Ability to align stakeholders and explain complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Sound judgment across ambiguity, competing priorities, dependencies, and risk, with attention to quality and operational excellence.
- Marketing technology, experimentation, analytics, attribution, instrumentation, or measurement experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, Australian Privacy Act requirements, and/or privacy-aware systems is a plus.
Compensation
- Canadian base pay range is CAD 181,000–241,000 per year; new employees typically start at the beginning of the pay range.
- Total compensation may include equity rewards, monthly stipends, and benefits.
Workplace
- Remote role open to candidates residing in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.
- Affirm is remote-first; some roles may require occasional office work, and new hires are invited to in-person onboarding.
Benefits
- Benefits include employer-paid health coverage, spending stipends, flexible time off, holiday calendars, and an employee stock purchase plan.
