Objectives

Oversee the full lifecycle of IT-related projects and ensure that all IT projects are executed efficiently, aligned with the Department’s strategic goals, and in compliance with governance and risk management standards.

Reporting directly to the Information Technology Executive Director, this position will drive the successful delivery of IT projects across the Department, ensuring technology solutions meet operational needs and enhance financial management capabilities.

Essential Duties

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of all IT-related projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and adherence to project management best practices.
  • Oversee the implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of the ADERP (Abu Dhabi Government ERP) system, ensuring it meets evolving business and regulatory needs.
  • Ensure all IT projects follow established governance frameworks, risk management processes, and meet compliance standards.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and allocate resources efficiently across IT projects to meet timelines and quality standards.
  • Act as the main point of contact for IT projects, providing regular updates to senior leadership and ensuring transparent communication across all relevant stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring projects stay on track and meet objectives.
  • Drive process improvements, adopting new tools and methodologies to optimize project delivery and enhance system performance.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and consultants to ensure successful delivery of IT projects, including system upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, business cases, and change requests, to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Oversee training initiatives for internal teams to ensure effective use of IT systems, particularly ADERP, and ensure technical support is available to resolve system issues.
  • Provide the necessary support to the line manager and perform any other related tasks assigned.

Experience And Qualifications

  • Preferable to have 6 to 8 years of experience in a similar field/position.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science or its equivalent in a similar specialty appropriate to the job duties.
  • A professional certificate in project management such as PMP is preferred.
